The International Program Committee
The International Program Committee will oversee the entire process associated with the Global Oceans Conference, decide on and refine the main messages emanating from the conference, oversee the preparation of the conference program. It will be made up of high-level leaders from major organizing entities.
The National Organizing Committee
The National Organizing Committee will oversee French-based activities and act as the Conference Host. They will also work with the Global Forum to ensure the most effective Global Conference, and the safety, productivity, and comfort of conference participants. The National Organizing Committee will work to organize receptions, preferably at outside locations in the city at cultural attractions or other venues, and include cultural aspects.
The following entities will be involved with the National Organizing Committee: French Government agencies, UNESCO (various divisions), other French-based entities (e.g., NAUSICAA, World Ocean Network, IDDRI, CPMR, others). The National Committee will engage French-based actors, focus on French-led panels, arrangements, logistics, handling of senior officials, security.
The Political Leaders Committee
The Political Leaders Committee will oversee the work of and preparations for the discussions of the National Political Leaders and the Ocean Parliamentarians, including any preparatory meetings.
The Media and Outreach Committee
The Media and Outreach Committee, with the leadership of the World Ocean Network, will bring together the media capabilities of the organizing entities and plan and execute a program of media and public outreach to achieve maximum impact, including through the use of Internet-based tools.
